American Birkebeiner Offers Entries to Olympic Athletes - birkie.com

HAYWARD, Wis., January 15, 2010 - As we look forward to the Winter Olympics the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation will grant all United States Nordic Olympic team members complimentary race registration for their lifetime into our events.

“The American Birkebeiner extends this opportunity in recognition of the athletes’ achievements and efforts in the sport of cross country skiing,” said Ned Zuelsdorff, Executive Director of the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation. “The complimentary race registrations are available to all current and former Nordic Olympic Team Members.”

All Olympians who were members of the Biathlon, Nordic Combined and Cross Country teams are eligible for the complimentary entries. In order to take advantage of this opportunity the Olympic athletes simply contact our office at 715-634-5025 or by email at birkie@birkie.com.

The 37th anniversary American Birkebeiner and Kortelopet events are expected to draw 7,500 skiers. Another 2,500 are anticipated for shorter races and events.
