Trail Conditions - Grooming Report

Trail Report - Saturday, February 4, 2012

The lighted loops at "OO" had the skate lanes combed this  morning.   The South trails had the skate lane combed to Mosquito Brook Rd. this morning  The Skate and Classic Trails had the skate lane combed from "OO" to the Korteloppet cut off at Timber Trail food station.  This is about 51k of new comb as of Saturday morning.

We are not resetting track at this point.  The track is solid and well formed.  You may want to get out your klister as the days warm and everything softens.

We are working on a lot of race prep and shoring up low areas of snow base on South facing hills.  This means that you may encounter snow piles here and there on the South end as we work at night and early AM hours.  It also means that we sometimes wipe out track in these patch areas.

We will keep at least 15-20 k around "OO" groomed or scratched so that the skiing is very good.  We will not be regrooming the entire system until either we get snow or the temps stay below freezing during the days.

The South skate trail does have a couple of South facing hills that will open up over the weekend.  They are both in the 30 and 31k area.  These will be repaired on Tuesday once it gets cold and stays below freezing during the days.

 Get outside and enjoy Winter!!

Pushing snow for Telemark.

Snow "ribbon" plowed on Lake Hayward. This protects the snow if water gets on the Lake. The ribbon will be spread and groomed for the race.
