Are you between the ages of 10-18? We have a race for YOU!

  • The Junior Birkie presented by CenturyLink will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012, at Telemark Resort in Cable, Wisconsin, starting at 9 a.m.
  • Race day options include the 3.5 km Freestyle (skate or stride technique) Mass Start Individual Race divided into 6 age/gender races and the 3 by 1km High School Mass Start Relay by gender.
  • Event day registration and bib pick up will take place in the tent at the stadium area behind the resort. See registration and bib pick up times on this page.
  • Athletes may participate in both events, but must register for each individually.

Race Day Event Options

3.5 km Freestyle (skate or classic technique) Mass Start Individual Race

  • Youth skiers ages 10-12, 13-15 and 16-18 can participate in the 3.5 km Freestyle (skate or classic technique) Mass Start. See schedule.
  • Everyone receives a medal, and age class prizes will be awarded.
  • This event also incorporates the CXC J3 and J4 Championships for those athletes who are CXC members. For CXC membership and information see www.cxcskiing.org.

The Seventh Annual 3 x 1 km High School Mass Start Relay
  • The Mass Start Relay follows the conclusion of the 10-18 year old Mass Start Individual Races.
  • Team members must ski on the same High School team and be in grades 9-12.The event is limited to 75 teams.
  • Team members should send in 3 applications in one envelope or register together on race morning.

Awards

3.5K Individual Event Awards

  • Top 3 receive awards immediately after each heat.
  • J3/J4 Awards - Top 3 each gender/category follow 10-12 year old girls awards.
