Gear Bags

Make sure warm, dry clothes are waiting for you at the Finish Line.

  • All skiers will receive a a gear bag at Bib Pick-up.
  • Your bag will be marked with your last name, first initial and bib number.
  • Your clothing bag must be dropped off at the appropriately marked truck, based on your race and wave.
  • Trucks will be located near the Start Line before you enter the staging and start pen enclosures for your wave.
  • Your clothing will be transported to the Finish Line bag pick-up area for your event.
  • Race officials are not responsible for lost or stolen items. If you are missing anything please check with the Lost & Found located at the Hayward Veteran's Center (across the street from the Birkie Office in Hayward.)
  • We recommend that you NOT LEAVE SKIS, POLES OR GEAR BAGS at the start line.  All items left at the start line will be picked up after the last wave leaves and taken to Lost and Found in Hayward at the Vet's Center.
  • You will have to present your race bib in order to receive your clothing bag at the pick-up area, which will be well marked.
  • We ask for consideration in the amount of materials and the weight of your bag. Remember volunteers lift many, many bags throughout the day. Our wonderful volunteers thank you!

Use Your Own Bag

We will allow skiers to use their own bags as an alternative to using plastic bags, although plastic bags will remain available. There will be a size and weight limit set. Ski bags will also be allowed, but a fee will be charged. More details available soon.
