The Individual Half Marathon is a very challenging trail run held on the beautiful American Birkebeiner Trail, the Trail used in the Winter for the American Birkebeiner Cross-Country Ski Marathon. The final leg of the course is run on the Kortelopet Trail. These trails are mowed, relatively smooth, but hilly and challenging. Fall is a beautiful time on the trail!

FOR THE BIRKIE TRAIL RUN EVENTS!
The last leg of the marathon / half-marathon course (which includes the Birke Trek – Nordic Walk) transitions from the Birkie Trail to the Kortelopet just before the 9K Birkie Ski marker and Timber Trail crossing. About two miles north on the Kortie, the trail curves to the left at forest trail marker #79. There is a two-way branch here. Take the right-hand branch, which is simply a short-cut to another section of the Kortie and allows us to create the 26.2 and 13.1 distances. This cut-off rejoins the Kortie at what is this year’s 5K course (Blue on the map). All the events then follow this Blue 5K course to the Finish.
*** If you are training on this portion of the course, you will see plenty of signs that direct you to Telemark Lodge. Please note that the map may be subject to small variations on race day, September 24.
All Half-Marathon Runners must park at Telemark Resort (finish area) and ride a bus to the start of the run. Parking is limited at the start area at the "OO" Trail crossing. Buses for the Half-Marathon Start will leave Telemark promptly at 9:45 AM.
There will be NO bus transport back to the start area after you finish your event.
Individual Half Marathoners will start their race at OO at 10:30 a.m.
