Looking for a place to train with your team over Christmas Break? The Birkie Trail is a great place to take any team- Club, High School, or Collegiate. The American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation is now making it even easier, more comfortable, and more enjoyable for the whole team to be skiing. The ABSF will open up the Great Hall at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead in Cable for teams to have a place to warm up, eat lunch, wax, and analyze video. Bathrooms and water will be available. The Great Hall makes a great place to ski from- hit the Birkie Trail and North End Trails for loops or out-and-back skiing with lots of variety in terrain and distances to make a day for any level of skier. Special trail pass pricing for teams/busses.
Directions: From Cable go south on Randysek Road in Cable then east on McNaught about 2 miles to new Birkie start area.

Want to spend the day racing on the Birkie Trail? You can! The Hayward Nordic Ski Team will be holding it’s High School Invite on Wednesday, December 28th.
A citizen division, The Double Pole Derby, will be held on the same day as a fundraiser for the Hayward Nordic Ski Team. What better way to test your fitness after Christmas than a great race on the same trail you’ll be racing on in February!
The Double Pole Derby is back! Held at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead in Cable, the Double Pole Derby is a fundraiser for the Hayward Nordic Ski Team. Race on the Birkie Trail while supporting the future of skiing- a win-win for sure! The Double Pole Derby is a race for everyone. Be the first to check out and utilize the new Birkie start. We will have an event regardless of snow conditions – possibly run, fat bike or other. All races are freestyle – that means – skate, classic or even double pole the entire course if you like.
