The FIVE Birkie Trail Run, Relay and Trek events on Sept. 27 take place on the famous Birkie Trail. For die-hard trail and singletrack runners, the Birkie has enough roots and rocks to keep it interesting. For runners looking to break free from the roads, it is a great crossover and intro to trail running. The course is wide and grass covered, but with a bike path to keep it fast and plenty of room to pass on the uphills, downhills, and flats. This is the Birkie Trail, so there are those famous Birkie hills. Hammer it or come to cover your favorite distance at a recreational pace. Either way, this event has a great, friendly vibe with its finish line party and hearty meal and craft beer on tap. See you in September!
Complimentary food and beverages will be available for all participants at the finish area, as well as be available for spectators for $10 (cash only). Expect lots of door prizes, plus awards for top finishers and age class winners. Plan to be part of this fun event at a beautiful time of the year at a fantastic site.
To assure the safety of all participants and spectators, pets and strollers are not allowed on the course. Pets are also not allowed anywhere on the event grounds, which include the course, finish line, tent, food, and spectator areas. Signs will be posted as a reminder. If you must bring a pet, please confine it to the parking area at Telemark.
Contact the Cable Area Chamber of Commerce - 715-798-3833 or the Hayward Area Chamber of Commerce - 800-724-2992 for lodging information. There are many hotels, motels and resorts in the area which fill quickly due to the popularity of the FALL COLOR season.
All race proceeds are used for Birkie Trail maintenance and improvement.
