2014 comes to a close tomorrow – What an amazing year – this one will
go in the record books for the ABSF!
After one of the most challenging American Birkebeiner races in history, we’ve spent a considerable amount of time strategizing how to make sure we can provide you with amazing experiences at world-class events for another 41 years. Success with our first-ever Capital Fundraising Campaign will guarantee that the Birkie will always be anchored at Telemark and honored in Hayward after an amazing journey on the trail!
To date we have raised $309,000 – that is 47% to our goal of $650,000 for Phase 1 – developing a permanent start and trailhead at Telemark, and re-creating the “International Bridge” over Highway 63 in Hayward to improve finish area safety and traffic flow. You can learn more about Phase 1 and the full campaign at www.birkie.com/future.
We’d really like to hit the 50% mark by the end of 2014 – that means
we need to raise $16,000 in the next 2 days!
PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A YEAR-END DONATION NOW.
Your contribution of any size will help us take a leap closer to our goal and ensure the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation can provide you with world-class events on a world-class trail year-round for generations to come.

The Birkie is no longer just a race that happens one day a year – it has evolved into a community, a year-round lifestyle, an ideology of healthy living – and the lifeblood, the thread that holds it together is the race itself. Success with our first ever capital fundraising campaign will ensure our future and make the race even better. It will take the entire Birkie Community to make this happen and to make sure the Birkie is around forever.
