Hello, we are organizing an end of season Party for ALL Northern Illinois skiers. We have had a similar party the last 5 years. However, this year rather than hosting it at a restaurant we decided to have it a place with Chicago’s richest Nordic History. The 100+ year old Norge ski jump area. The goal of this party is very simple, To gather as many Northern Illinois Skiers as possible and share in celebrating the end of another good Skiing year and to raise some funds for the Birkie. We have invited Ben Popp (Executive Director of the Birkie ) and Amy Rowley (Development Director) to join us and answer questions about the health and future of the largest ski race in North America and the prized Birkie trail and do a short presentation.  They will be bringing some birkie hats (not from any event we may have attended …so these are worth the trip) and a free entry to one of the races for raffle. It is my hope, that we can take ALL proceeds (much of the food and drink plus the club house has been donated) and donate them to the Birkie towards their Trail enhancements Campaign. Our previous parties, the cost has been around $15-$35 per person for food and drink plus the venue. So my hope is to keep the cost the same. We have been working on donations for a raffle. It is not required for anyone, to buy raffle tickets or, to participate but it is definitely encouraged. We will have the large Norge Club house (which is filled with a century of history to include pictures and posters for people to check out. (There are some awesome pictures of a temporary ski jump, which was set up at Soldiers field almost a century ago). We are working on some people to play some music. The club house looks out over their Ski jump and we can possibly take a hike up to the base of the jump and experience what Ski jumpers.

Please send me your RSVP as soon as possible so we can get a count on people attending at mailto:Timber121@gmail.com please include your name and the number attending.

If you are willing to help in any way with the organizing or helping get a item donated for the raffle please contact me at Tom Dvoratchek at the same email address.

Some areas I need some help on currently:

Securing donations for the raffle

Coordinating the catering or helping with food set up

Some one to sell raffle tickets

Various other small tasks

More information will be coming in the next week with updates about swag and other important information.
