# Great State Trails Adventure to Feature Birkie Trail

### Mark your calendars for October 4th!

This fall, Sarah Widder, a Menomonie, WI, native, is set to ride all 44 Wisconsin state bicycle trails to highlight Wisconsin’s natural resource and recreation protection. On Saturday, October 4, Sarah will ride the Birkie Trail during her leg from Rice Lake to Cable. The segment will be part of her journey of ~1,700 miles of trail, 6 non-state trails (~350 miles), and ~500 miles of connecting network corridor.

Sarah rides for [Team Knowles Nelson](https://knowlesnelson.org/take-action/#/42/ "Team Knowles Nelson"), a nonprofit group project in support of the Wisconsin Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program. The Knowles-Nelson Program is a state-wide grant program that supports many conservation and recreation efforts in the state, including maintenance and development of state bicycle trails.
