The American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation is a 501(C)(3) that promotes health and wellness through year-round outdoor recreation opportunities. Becoming a member of the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation (ABSF) is your chance to ensure future generations have the opportunity to Become a Birkebeiner.
As a member of the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation (ABSF) your support allows us to continue stewarding the Birkie Trail System, offering Birkie Trail Kids youth programming, Birkie One Diversity, Equity, Access, and Inclusivity (DEAI) initiatives, Birkie Green sustainability projects, and continued program development.
Through the support of your membership, the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation can create opportunities for people to challenge themselves outside, creating memories that shape their lives and their communities.
2023-2024 ABSF Membership Year Runs from April 10, 2023 to March 31, 2024. Email tracy.lynn@birkie.com if you want the Annual ABSF pin. The 2024 Annual ABSF pins will be mailed after November 1, 2023.
Membership Levels
When you join the ABSF, you have three membership options available to suit your personal needs – Individual, Family or Business. Each membership option also offers three levels – Birkie Leader, Birkie Guardian, or Birkie Supporter. Take a look at the levels below and choose the option that is best for you!
Race registration with membership opens on April 10, 2023, membership only registrations opens on April 17!

*Family Membership includes up to 2 adults & dependent children under age 18 at the same household.
Birkie Trail passes are separated from each membership level to allow you to customize your preferred membership and trail pass combination. When you join the ABSF you can choose not only your membership level, but also whichever Birkie Trail pass type works best for you (regular season, All-Access snow pass, or perhaps no pass at all). What Birkie Trail pass makes sense for one member may not be what works best for another. So, if you want to join the ABSF with a Leader Membership with an All-Access snow pass, or a Guardian Membership with a regular season pass – no problem, you choose what works best for you!

5. Run for the ABSF Board of Directors, vote in the annual election, attend the Annual Meeting of the ABSF, be asked to be a part of your opinion matters opportunities:
Run for the ABSF board so that you can share your ideas, passion, and vision with the ABSF. Be a part of the energy that drives the Birkie! Join us at the ABSF Annual Meeting on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 4:00pm OO Johnson Family Outdoor Center and hear from the ABSF board about future Birkie plans, and enjoy a great time with fellow ABSF members! Be asked to be included in “Your Opinion Matters” survey and opinion groups throughout the year to help inform Foundation decision making.
