Gov. Evers Visits Mt. Telemark Village

On Tuesday, January 20th Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers flew into Cable Union Airport to continue his week of travel highlighting tourism and winter recreation. Accompanied by Tourism Secretary Anne Sayers and their staffs, the Governor met with American Birkebeiner Executive Director Ben Popp, Marketing Director Shawn Connelly and Development Director Louise Droessler for a tour of the Mt. Telemark Village Hub and Tony Wise Museum of the American Birkebeiner.

After seeing the museum and learning more about American Birkebeiner history, the Governor and his team visited Joel Harrison at New Moon North to get gear up to go cross country skiing.

The group took a short ski on a single digit temperature day, approximately 1K over the Mt. Telemark Village Hub bridge and over toward the old Telemark Lodge remains and Homebase Lodging.

Upon returning to the Mt. Telemark Village Hub, the Governor and his team enjoy a warm-up and snack from Backroads Coffee while discussing tourism and winter recreation with the Birkie staff and area leaders.
