2026 Rossignol Birkie Trail Run brings competition to the fall trails
[Cable, WI, Sept. 27, 2026] – The American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation (ABSF) hosted the 2026 Rossignol Birkie Trail Run on Saturday, September 26. Nearly 900 racers, joggers and trekkers took on the Mt. Telemark Village and surrounding area trails, participating in seven different at events including the Carlson MD Marathon, FITS Socks Marathon Relay, Wild River Running Half Marathon, Nordic Trek, Essentia Health 5K, Kemps Kids Fun Run and a new 10K course added this year.
The top male and female winners of the Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K, 10K and Relay events took home new Rossignol trail shoes. Winners include:

The Birkie Trail Run is coming back to Mt. Telemark Village in Cable, Wisconsin for the 25th anniversary race Saturday, September 25th, 2027.
While the American Birkebeiner, affectionately known as the “Birkie,” is most well-known for North America’s largest cross-country ski race, for over a decade, the Birkie Trail Run has brought thousands of runners and trekkers to the forested hills of the Wisconsin Northwoods for a challenging race day.
“We encourage everyone to adapt the ‘Birkie lifestyle’, a year-round active, healthy way of living,” said Ben Popp, Executive Director of ABSF. “Rossignol is a perfect example of this lifestyle with their relatively new venture into trail running gear. It aligns perfectly with our mission to inspire people of all ages and abilities to live active, adventurous lives through not only cross-country skiing, but also running.”
