Friday
Location: The Derksen Family Great Hall, American Birkebeiner Trailhead, Cable, WI
- 5:00 pm – Welcome and Check-In
- 5:30 pm – Workshop #1: Why Fat Biking in the Northwoods?
- 6:00 pm – Workshop #2: Inspired – The Connection between Performance and Breathing Mechanics
- Presented by Fluid Health and Fitness
- 6:30 pm – Dinner with Friends!
- Gather with fellow participants for a catered dinner and wine!
- Meal provided by Northern Lakes Co-Op.
- Wine provided by Red Schoolhouse Wines and Alexis Bailly Vineyard.
- 7:00 pm – Workshop #3: Are You Ready to Ride?
- What to Wear!
- Get the scoop on how to dress for fat bike riding
- Bike Basics
- We’ll cover the basics of air pressure, tires, and how to prep your bike for Saturday’s ride
- What to Wear!
- 8:00 pm – Q&A with Coaches
- 8:30 pm – Close for the day
Saturday

- 9:00 am – Rise & Shine
- Coffee and Baked Goods
- Provided by Backroads Coffee and Vibes Bakery
- 9:30 am – Is your bike ready?
- 10:00 am – Workshop #4: Skills & Drills on the snow
- Fat Bike skill work with your coaches
- Technique work to enable you to ride through, over, and on any snow-covered trail
- Fat Bike skill work with your coaches
- 12:30 pm – Lunch with Friends!
- Meal provided by Northern Lakes Co-Op.
- 12:30 pm – Workshop #5
- Nutrition & Hydration Tips for On and Off the Bike with Dr. Kim Heintz
- Strength Training for Injury Prevention
- 2:00 pm – Group Rides
- Have fun with your friends and coaches as we head out on group rides around the American Birkebeiner Trailhead!
- We’ll ride on and off snow, depending on snow conditions
- Conditions permitting, we’ll ride parts of the 10K Fun Fat Tour that is part of the 2022 Fat Bike Birkie
- 4:00 pm – Wrap it up!
- Last minute questions and workshop wrap up
- Dinner and Explore surrounding Cable/Hayward businesses
Sunday
Location: Derksen Family Great Hall, American Birkebeiner Trailhead, Cable, WI
- 9:00 am – Workshop #6: Sunshine Yoga

- 10:00 am – Coffee and scones at the Great Hall
- Provided by Backroads Coffee and Vibes Bakery
- 10:30 am – Workshop #7: Singletrack Rides
- Break into groups
- Hospital trails, new trails at the Birkie Trailhead, Seeley Hills
- CAMBA trail maps
- 12:30 pm – Goodbyes from your ride location!
Venue Directions and Parking
Getting There
All of the camp activities will take place at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead. Arrive at the start from Telemark Rd- take Hwy M east from Cable, take a right (south) on Telemark Rd., and follow the signs to parking and/or bib pick-up. Exit the start/finish area via Telemark Rd. There is ample parking at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead.

Ladies Fat Bike Getaway starts and finishes at the American Birkebeiner Trailhead, located about 17 miles north of Hayward, WI, the “Gateway to the Historic Northwoods” in the town of Cable, WI. Within driving distance from Duluth, MN 1:30, Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN 3:00, Madison, WI 4:50, and Chicago, IL 7:20.
